ΗIVE-TIME AND THE WEATHER IS FINE

Many of us wonder what bees do in wintertime. They don’t, of course, die or hibernate. On the contrary, they create a beesphere. But what is a beesphere? A cluster of bees, with the queen bee at its center.

What do the bees do inside the beesphere?

  • Τo avoid energy waste, they only make light movements.
  • They gather together in a cluster, making sure they maintain a quite high temperature.
  • They protect the queen by placing her in the center of their beesphere.
  • Every 12 hours or so, they change positions; those in the casing move inside and so on. This is how they ensure that all bees have access to the food
